Complex dynamics of water quality mixing in a warm mono-mictic reservoir

چکیده

Cycling of water quality constituents in lakes is affected by thermal stratification and homo-thermal conditions other factors such as oligotrophication, eutrophication, microbial activities. In addition, hydrological variability can cause greater differences residence time cycling man-made (reservoirs) than natural lakes. Thus, investigations are needed on vertical mixing new impounded reservoirs, especially those constructed to supply domestic water. this study, sampling campaigns were conducted the Sabalan reservoir, Iran, investigate changes constituent concentrations during year periods with conditions. The results revealed incomplete constituents, even cold months when reservoir was homo-thermal. These interacted create a bottom-up regulated sediment that released settled pollutants, impairing both Analysis total nitrogen phosphorus eutrophic. External pollution loads, internal pollutants diffusing out from bottom sediments, reductions inflow operations throughout year.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Phytoplankton and water quality in a Mediterranean drinking-water reservoir (Marathonas Reservoir, Greece).

Phytoplankton and water quality of Marathonas drinking-water Reservoir were examined for the first time. During the study period (July-September 2007), phytoplankton composition was indicative of eutrophic conditions although phytoplankton biovolume was low (max. 2.7 mm³ l⁻¹). Phytoplankton was dominated by cyanobacteria and diatoms, whereas desmids and dinoflagellates contributed with lower bi...

Effects of water stratification and mixing on microbial community structure in a subtropical deep reservoir

Microorganisms play pivotal roles within aquatic ecosystems, affecting their structure, functioning and services. However, little is known about the effects of water stratification and mixing on the aquatic microbial community dynamics in subtropical reservoirs. In this study, we explored vertical and seasonal patterns of microbial diversity in the Dongzhen Reservoir (southeast China). Quantita...
